Betty J. Turek, 87, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Swedish-American Heart Hospital following a three week illness. She was born on August 2, 1924 in Belvidere, Illinois; the daughter of Amandas and Mae (Clouser) Kunde. Betty married Leo T. Turek in Belvidere on May 2, 1943. She was a homemaker in which she enjoyed raising her children. She also loved to bake and cook. Betty is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She also belonged to the Immanuel Ladies Guild. She is survived by her husband, Leo; a daughter, Mary Ann (Dale) Jones; two grandchildren, Michael Glee and Sandy (Corwin) Raypole; four great grandchildren, Brandon, Colton, Dakota and Frederick; a brother, Jerry Kunde and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Larry and three sisters, Rosie, Margaret and Shirley.
