Belvidere, IllinoisBetty Lou Smith, 83, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully Monday morning, March 4, 2013 in her room at the Emeritus of Rockford. Betty was born February 12, 1930 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Irven and Phyllis (Hendricksen) Barr. She married Donald F. Smith on July 14, 1949 in Belvidere. Betty was a practicing LPN for Highland Hospital in Belvidere for over 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Belvidere where she was involved in the B.Y.K.O.T.A. guild; she was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Bradenton Beach, FL. Betty was a member of the Belvidere Moose, Flora Grange and the Elks Club in Bradenton, FL. While spending time in Florida, Betty enjoyed ceramics, crafts, knitting, embroidery work and relaxing.Betty is loved and will be missed by her children Linda Mitchell of Roscoe, IL, Kurt (Melissa) of Roscoe, IL, Stuart (JoAnna) of Merrimack, NH; grandchildren Jennifer Haschell of Union Mills, IN, Kimberly (David) Mainwaring of Salem, OR, Justin Smith, Roscoe, Andy Smith of Roscoe, Megan Hitt of Ozarks, MO, Jason Smith of North Conway, NH; great-grandchildren, Madison, Alexa, Hunter, Olivia, Anna Marie, Greyson, Ashton, Samuel, Jackson; niece Judith Anderson and numerous great nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her parents, husband Donald; brother Dick (Marie) Barr; infant sister; grandson Bryan Smith.
