Betty M. Silvius, 88, of Marion, Illinois formerly of Belvidere, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in Marion, Illinois. Betty was born on August 24, 1920 in Belvidere; the daughter of Walter and Ella (Laging) Kronke. She married Derwood Silvius in Belvidere on January 24, 1944. Betty was employed as an office worker for Barber-Coleman Co. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and other church organizations such as, Faith Circle, Bykota and United Methodist Women. Betty is a graduate of Rockford High School. She is survived by two sons, Guy (Denise) Silvius, Marion, Illinois and Dan (Wendy) Silvius, Cincinnatti, Ohio; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Carey, and Lorayne Coniglio.
