Betty J. Reynolds age 81 of Belvidere passed away Friday February 16, 2007 in St. Anthony Medical Center. Betty was born November 25, 1925 to Eric and Lillian (Snyder) Oscarson. She graduated from Capron High School in 1943. She later married the love of her life James Reynolds in Poplar Grove on October 6, 1946. Betty worked as the head of the cafeteria for Poplar Grove School. She later went on to work for Admiral Corp. and then Telecom where she did assembly for communications. Betty especially enjoyed motorcycling and fishing with her husband, traveling to Texas for the winters, and being a good mom. She loved to spend time with her family and playing cards with her grandchildren and taking walks in the park with her sister Dorothy. Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years James Reynolds; children; Nathan (Virginia) Reynolds, and Sally (Dan) Johnson; grandchildren; Chris Reynolds, Julie (Paul) Windisch, Beri (Keith) Whisenand, Brad Johnson, and Andrea Reynolds; great grandchildren, Alivia, Keagan, Addison, Cara, Samantha, and Brienne; sisters; Dorothy Johnson, Sadie Behake; brother, Eric Oscarson Jr.; sister-in-law Jane Oscarson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Eric, and brother, Andrew Oscarson. "Our family wishes to thank Dr. Mete Korkmaz, Jody Williamson, and the staff at OSF Cancer Center, special nurses; Shawnie, Betty, Sara, Kendall, Stephanie, Nicole, Palma, Jennifer, Christie, her special CNA, Betsy and Jay, and so many caring staff members of 4 West at OSF Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Betty's name.
