Betty Duncan, 80, of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday evening, March 14, 2007 in her home at Independence Village. Betty was born July 21, 1926 in Galena, IL the daughter of John and Ethel Bartell. She married Oliver L. "Bud" Duncan February 23, 1946. Bud predeceased her in 2003. Betty formerly worked for National Sewing Machine, Midwest Bottle Cap and Barber Coleman. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Betty enjoyed reading romance novels, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loving homemaker.Survivors include her children, David (Anita) Duncan of Belvidere, Vicki Lynn (Eric) Schwebke of Rockford; grandchildren, Stacy, Jeffery (Christy), Greg (Mindy) Duncan, Sonia Schwebke; great grandchildren, Shawn, Andrew, Jacob, Alexandra, Anyssa, Evan; sister Rose Triplett of Machesney Park; special niece Dody Pax, and all Betty's friends at Independence Village who brought much joy to her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. John's United Church of Christ in Betty's memory.
