Bessie P. "Betty" Chaplin, 86, of Belvidere, died Monday, February 2, 2009 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born February 21, 1922 in Beloit, WI. the daughter of Edwin J. and Kate (Broom) Loveridge. She married Frederick L. Chaplin in Belvidere on July 2, 1949. She was employed as an assembler by Automatic Electric, Genoa, IL. for 20 years retiring in May 1986. Member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, the American Legion Women's Auxillary and the Machinist Union IAM. In her spare time she enjoyed animals and gardening. She is a graduate of Belvidere High School. She is survived by two sister-in-laws, Virginia Braun and Helen Chaplin, both of Belvidere; three nephews and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and Husband.
