Bernice J. Anderson, 82, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, January 1, 2008 in her home after a lingering illness. Bernice was born December 24, 1925 in Newman Grove, Nebraska the daughter of Fred O. and Andrina (Johnson) Nelson. She married Mr. Russell K. Anderson on May 4, 1947 in Kirkland, IL. Bernice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Past President of the Ladies Guild, Home Extension Association, Maple Crest Auxiliary, Christcare and Helping Hands of the church.Survivors include her husband, Russell of Belvidere; children, Linda J. Way of Rockford, Larry Anderson of Belvidere, Dianne (Leland) Onley of Belvidere, Connie (Robert) Moore of Peoria, AZ; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Roseabel (Harold) Kahle of Sycamore, IL, Carolyn (Stanley) Peterson of Kingston and Laverna Johnson of Sycamore; sister in-law, Nellie Nelson of Stitzer, WI. Bernice is predeceased by her parents and son-in-law Thomas Way; brother, Quinton Nelson.The family acknowledges the loving care given to Bernice by Dr. Harvey Einhorn, her care giver Anita and the Northern IL Hospice nurses Kim and Lisa.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established with Immanuel Lutheran Church and Northern Illinois Hospice in Bernice's memory.
