Bernard M. Ramsey, 89, of Belvidere, IL passed away, Saturday, January 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 8, 1926 in Belvidere, IL, son of Marion and Eva (Stevens) Ramsey. Bernard married Delores Plymale on November 9, 1950 in Belvidere, IL. He was a member of first Presbyterian Church in Belvidere. Bernard proudly served our country with the Navy during World War II. He worked for Exelon/Commonwealth Edison, retiring after 37 years. Bernard enjoyed singing, camping, stained-glass and was an avid Cubs fan. He and Delores received the yard of the month award several times and enjoyed spending their winters in Texas and Arizona.

He is loved and will be missed by his daughters, Linda Cox of Poplar Grove, Kathy (David) Strothmann of Pine, CO; grandchildren, Tracie (Zack) Davis, Kurt (Anitra) Cox, Kyle (Fiance, Andrea Rosmann) Cox; great-grandchildren, Dylan Jarrah, Catherine Jarrah, Ryne Cox, Kody Cox; brother and sister-in-law's Jim and Sharon Rever, Elmer Plymale, Dwain and Jenny Plymale, Jim and Jan Plymale, Pat Plymale; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother Arnold and sister Beverly.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Dr. Robert Kopp officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
