Benjamin Hernandez, 62, of Belvidere, passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born January 27, 1954 in Mexico, son of Pedro Hernandez and Concepcion Gonzalez. He married Teresa Ramirez in August of 1975. Benjamin worked in maintenance at Rockford Ball Screw. He was a member of Saint James Catholic Church. Benjamin enjoyed fishing, fixing up cars, and going to auctions.

Benjamin is loved and missed by his wife; children, Veronica (Osbaldo) Rivera, Benjamin Hernandez, Luis (Jacqueline) Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez, Peter Hernandez, and Pablo (Cecilia) Hernandez; 6 grandchildren; father, Pedro Hernandez; 5 sisters; 4 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, and one brother.

Funeral Mass will held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2016 at Saint James Church, 535 Caswell Street, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Father William Schuessler officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008.
