Basyl "Bill" Molosz, 77, of Belvidere Illinois died Sunday afternoon at his home, February 17, 2008 after a very courageous battle with cancer. Basyl came to Boston, MA from his native Poland on August 9, 1950 and after a short stay in Pennsylvania, he settled in Rockford. Basyl was born August 1, 1930 in Lubiszczyce, Poland the son of Szymon and Melania (Sachanko) Molosz. Basyl married Elaine C. Fiene on August 9, 1958 in Davis, Illinois. He was a well known Tool Maker in the Rockford area. Basyl worked for Sundstrand Machine Tool beginning in February of 1952 and retired from White-Sundstrand in March of 1983. He also, worked for Wal-Ern Tool for many years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Belvidere Lodge #295 since 1978. Basyl took pride in his "special" gardening techniques of nurturing his garden vegetables from seed to scrumptious produce and his trees from seedlings to soaring beauty. He was an avid Fisherman and Hunter in his day. He more recently enjoyed nature at its finest through his back yard view. He was undoubtedly one of the best cooks who loved impressing his family with his original recipes. Basyl was very ingenious and could use most any household item to find a creative solution to a predicament. Basyl's world was his grandsons; as a proud grandfather, Basyl left his legacy by spending time and teaching his children and grandsons a great work ethic and to take pride in their work.Basyl is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Cindy) Molosz of Belvidere, Monica (Robert) Thomason of Mililani, HI; grandsons, Christian and Colby Molosz, Spencer, Zane and Seth Thomason; brother, Jan (Polly) Molosz of Rockford and sister, Lidia Parfiewich of Rockford; nieces and nephews.Basyl is predeceased by his parents, wife, Elaine; two infant sons, Joel and Joshua; sisters, Kathy and Anna.

Basyl requested that memorial gifts be made in care of his family for the educational funds of his grandsons.
