Barbara J. Salley, 82, of Rockford died Tuesday October 18, 2005 at Rosewood Care Center. She was born February 12, 1923 to E. Paul and Cora (Jordan) Bates in Belvidere. She married Francis Skelly in 1942. She later married James Salley on April 23, 1954 in Elgin, IL. She was a member of the Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, the homemaker extension since 1980, and the VFW Aux Post #1461. She is survived by son: Gerald Skelly of Utica, MI., daughter: Janet (James) Hildebrand of Bonita Springs, FL., son: Russell "Rusty" (Ellen) Salley of Belvidere, daughter: Darla (John) Saxby of Sun Prairie, WI., 9 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren, brother: Stanley (Aileen) Bates of Poplar Grove, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by parents, her husband James Salley, a son John Skelly, and a brother Kenneth Bates.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to O.S.F. Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
