Barbara M. Linder, 85, of Belvidere, went to sleep on earth and woke up in Heaven on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Rosewood Care Center of Rockford after a lingering illness. She was born on April 30, 1928 in Belvidere; the daughter of Arthur and Jean (Fristoe) Gates. Barbara graduated from Belvidere High School in 1946. On June 10, 1947, she married Roger H. Linder in Belvidere. Barbara worked several years for Green Giant. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In her past time, she enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, sewing, baking goodies, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was treasured as a great Mom and Grandma. Barbara is survived by her children, Sandi Buck, Wynne AR; Dennis (Nancy) Linder, and Rodney Linder, both of Belvidere; son-in-law, Charles Vertin; 9 grandchildren, Crystal Snell, Julie (Darren) Barbee, Della Mays-Chavez, Shane Hellenga, Emily Vertin, Mary (Rudy) Ramirez, Kathryn (Josh) Blair, Patricia Linder, Rebecca Linder; 9 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson, Ryan. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, daughter, Laurie Vertin, granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Linder, son-in-law, Ray Buck; 3 brothers, and 2 sisters-in-law. The family wishes to thank the staff of Rosewood Care Center and Transistions Hospice for their loving care to Barbara.
