Barbara Lee Larsen, 77, of Machesney Park, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 9, 1943 in Belvidere, Illinois daughter of Albert and Ruby (Swanson) Banwell. She married Leon H. Larsen on June 19, 1965 in Rockford, Illinois. Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse after studying at Swedish American Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member at Grace Lutheran Church in Loves Park, Illinois. She loved to be outside and meddling in her garden. Barbara was also an amazing cook- there wasn't anything she couldn't make! More than anything, she loved her family and coming together to create unforgettable memories.

She will be remembered and missed by her sons; Edward Larsen and Ted Larsen; sister Carol (Brent) Keil; brothers Albert Banwell and Thomas Banwell; grandsons Dustin (Brittany) Larsen and Eric Larsen; granddaughter Brooke Larsen; and great-grandson Cole Power.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Larsen; both parents; and siblings Mary Reyes and Timothy Banwell.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Belvidere Cemetery 1121 North Main Street, Belvidere, Illinois 61008 with Pastor Brent Dawson officiating.
