Barbara Boncler, 89, of Poplar Grove, IL died in Poplar Grove, December 19, 2021. She was born November 25, 1932 in Duluth, Minnesota to George and Martha (Grimm) Segel. She married Leonard A. Boncler on April 24, 1954 in Lakewood, Minnesota. Mrs. Boncler worked as a credit analyst for Nationwide for 9 years from where she later retired.  She was a member of the Flames, Sewing by the Lake and Rosary Makers organization. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening and maintaining the flowers at the Candlewick subdivision.

Barbara is loved and will be missed dearly by her daughters, Theresa Sambrowski and Jacqueline (Gerald) Biskup; brothers, Richard Segel, Thomas Segel and James Segel.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents; and sister, Ellamae Novotny.

A visitation will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 402 Church Street, Belvidere, IL 61008. Rev. Brian Geary will officiate. Private burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, Illinois. A Life Celebration will be for friends and family at a later date.
