Barbara Jane "Bobbie" Marrs, 90, of Belvidere, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere on September 14, 2016. She was born in Belvidere on March 20, 1926 to Spencer and Fern (Bailey) Porter. Bobbie graduated from Belvidere High Schoo, class of 1944 and married her sweetheart, Gerald "Jerry" Marrs on August 31, 1947 in Garden Prairie, Illinois. They traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska where they spent their first year of marriage. She and Jerry enjoyed dancing for many years with friends.

Jerry and Bobbie farmed in Boone County and also ran Marrs Auction Service for 45 years. She was proud to be a homemaker. Bobbie worked at Ernie Miller's Grocery Store in Garden Prairie and was a hostess at the Huddle for many years. She was a past member of The Boone County District # 2 Fire Department Auxilary. Bobbie loved her family greatly and loved to bake for them. Bobbie was fond of animals and especially loved her dog, Mandy.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Shelley) Marrs of Belvidere and Jim (Callie) Marrs of Garden Prairie; grandchildren, Michael Marrs of Roanoke, Tx., Katie (JC) Fanning of Atlanta, Ga., Greg (Katie) Marrs of Rolling Meadows, Lisa (John) Liebgott of Belvidere, and Jeff (Kelly) Marrs of Belvidere; and great-grandchildren, Kiley, Ally, Henry, Nora, Amelia and Sawyer.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; and granddaughters, Jean Marie and Jody Lynn Marrs.

The family would like thank OSF Saint Anthony Hospital, Northwoods Care Center, and OSF Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Bobbie.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Dave Bateman officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial at Highland Garden of Memories.
