Astrid A.M. Holmgren, 91, of Rockford, Illinois died Friday, May 9, 2008 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford after a sudden illness. Astrid was born August 19, 1916 in Dalsland, Sweden, the daughter of John and Hilma (Larson) Holmgren. Astrid managed the Wedgewood Restaurant in Belvidere and also worked for Warner-Lambert. She was a life long member of Tabor Lutheran Church in Rockford and was a past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star Chapter 91.Survivors include her sister, Gunborg (Boyd) Hermansen of Loves Park, Illinois; brother, Ronald Holmgren of Belvidere, Illinois; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Astrid is predeceased by her parents, stepmother, Sigrid Holmgren; brothers, Gunnard and Thorston Holmgren; sister in-law, Nancy Holmgren and great niece, Hallie Fair.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to Tabor Lutheran Church or Eastern Star Adeline Chapter 119.
