Arlene Ann Shaw, 75 of Rockford, IL. Passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, at her daughters home, after suffering complications of a stroke. Arlene was born on July 6, 1948 in Ann Arbor, MI. born to the parents of John and Laura (Walter) Jannisch. Arlene graduated from Belvidere High School in 1966. She married her lifelong sweetheart Mickey Shaw on August 8, 2003 on Three Sisters Islands in Niagara Falls, NY. Together they shared a love for cars, vacationing on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle and their 4 legged babies: Sabrina, Princess and Charlie.
Arlene loved fashion! There was rarely a time when her outfit didn't match her shoes and jewelry. Arlene had a beautiful smile and was always the life of the party followed with hugs for everyone.
Arlene was very proud of her award-winning, 2003 white mustang convertible car. She always enjoyed seeing people's faces as they commented on the horses painted on the side of her car. She was a member of the Mustang Club of Rockford. Arlene was also very proud of her sobriety. On March 6, 2024 she celebrated 30 years without drinking.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Mickey, and her four daughters; Laurie Chandler, Vicki Akins, Renee (Rick) Vettore and Rhonda Oscarson, step children, Keith Shaw and Kerry Shaw, She had 14 grandchildren; Gretchen Oscarson, Zach (Lexi) Oscarson, Daytona Chandler, Skyler Akins, Drake Chandler, Blaze Akins, Andrew Pierce, Lillie Chandler, Olivia Adams, Faith Pierce, Sophia Adams, Cooper Chandler, Carson Chandler and Taylor Adams. She had 2 Great Grandchildren: Connor and Selena Oscarson, brothers, Norm (Cathy) Jannisch and Ed (Debi) Jannisch. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews; Karen Gill, Mike Jannisch, Jessi Spera and Scott Jannisch.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Jannisch.
The family would like to thank OSF hospice and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Belvidere.
Arlene's visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27 at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 218 Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. 61008, from 9-10:30 am. Pastor Buss will officiate the memorial service at 10:30 am. The family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life immediately following the memorial service at the Community Building Complex of Boone County, 111 w. 1st., Belvidere, IL. 61008
