Arlene J. Robertson, 81 of Belvidere, died Monday, December 8, 2008 in Biltmore Nursing Home following a long illness. Born May 28, 1927 in Staunton, Ill.; the daughter of Emil H. and Ethel (Reeves) Beyer. She has lived in Belvidere since 1954, coming here from Staunton. Arlene married George H. Robertson, in Staunton on December 23, 1946. She was employed as a factory worker for Admiral Corp., Harvard, Ill. and later worked security for Sundstrand Co. Belvidere before retiring. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of Kegler's Bowling team participating in the local league. She was also an assistant Girl Scout leader. Arlene is a graduate of Staunton High School. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Ripplinger, Belvidere; two grandchildren, Jeralyn (Troy) Green, Loves Park, Ill.; Skyler (Jennifer) Ripplinger, Rockford; four great-grandchildren, Abbey and Austin Green, and Matthew and Brenna Ripplinger; two sisters, Gloria "Tootie" Tjaden, Staunton, Ill., and Imogene Spudic, Litchfield, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband and a brother, Melvin Beyer; son-in-law, Frank "Dusty" Ripplinger.
