Arlene J. Kraaz, 84, of Cherry Valley, IL, died peacefully November 7, 2025, in Cherry Valley. She was born February 7, 1941, in Chicago, IL, daughter to Glenn and Dorothy Nagle. She graduated Steinmetz High School in Chicago and worked in retail and customer service at Madigans department store for many years. She also did volunteer work for area schools and enjoyed cooking, reading romance novels and travel. Arlene took cruise trips to many wonderful destinations. Arlene married her sweetheart, Dick Kraaz on September 29,1962 at St. Andrews in Chicago. They had three children, Richard, Judy and David who they loved dearly.
Arlene is loved and missed by many including her children, Richard (Sara) Kraaz, Judy (Allen) Gullang and David (Amy) Kraaz; grandchildren, Jaymi Kraaz, Richard Kraaz, Patrick Kraaz, Brett Kraaz, Matthew Kraaz, Amanda Gullang, Heather Churkey, David Kraaz, Jr., and Andrew Kraaz; great- grandchildren, Cali Criswell and Kane Churkey; and special pet dog, her "Peanut."
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Kraaz; and brother, Glenn Nagle.
A visitation will be at 11 a.m.  until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Pastor Buss will officiate. Cremation Rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Alzheimer's Association.
