Arlene E. Hornbeck, 65, of Belvidere, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 in Swedish-American Hospital following a long illness. She was born on September 18, 1943 in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Michael and "Eileen" (Tilton) Cleary. She was married to Jimmy Hornbeck, he preceded her in death 33 years ago. Arlene was a machine operator for many years working in plastic injection, she retired in 2002. She was a member of East Park Baptist Church; the Keen Age Center; the Women of the Moose Belvidere Lodge 1052 and the South Elgin Lions Club. Arlene was an avid card and bingo player. She also enjoyed ceramics and bell collecting. She is survived by two children, William "Bill" (Denise) Hornbeck of Kirkland, Illinois; Traci (Ryan Burchard) Hornbeck, Belvidere, Illinois; six grandchildren, Angela Hornbeck, Jessica Eide, Jimmy Hornbeck, Jared Hornbeck, Kristoffer Vargas, Alex Hornbeck; a sister, Diane Schubbe; a brother, John Cleary; fifteen nieces and nephews; twenty-three grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Maureen Schubbe.
