Ardis A. Shearer, 81, of Belvidere died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in her home following a short illness. She was born June 5, 1928 in Sharon, Wisconsin to Odell and Irene (Welch) Kenyon. She attended schools in Sharon. Married Robert Shearer on October 28, 1950 in Sharon. Ardis was employed 38 years for Arnold Engineering Co., Marengo, Ill. retiring in 1988. She loved her dogs and horses. She enjoyed riding and camping. Ardis was a member of the U.A.W. and Davis United Methodist Church of Herbert, Ill. She is survived by husband, Robert of Belvidere; a son, Lonnie (Nancy) Pufahl of Mayfield Ky. daughter-in-law, Sandra Pufahl of Rockford; two granddaughters, Mrs. Jodie Schirmer and Jackie Pufahl; three great-grandsons, and one great granddaughter all of Tomahawk, Wi.; two great-great granddaughters, and one great-great grandson of Rockford, Il. and Tomahawk, Wi.; One stepson, Robert Shearer, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Marilyn Scharlow, two step-grandchildren and two step grandchildren all of Algonquin, Il.; three nieces and two nephews. Preceded in death by by parents, a son, Larry Pufahl, grandson, Lonnie Pufahl, II, granddaughter, Linda Jones.
