Obituary

Archie Lowell Poole, 85, of Belvidere, IL passed away, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Rockford, IL. Archie was born February 22, 1937 in Springfield IL, the son of Archie Littleton and Ruth (Willbanks) Poole. Archie married the love of his life Carolyn Krueger on October 29, 1960 in Springfield, IL. Archie served with the United States Navy, was stationed on the USS Leary during the Korean War as a E6 Boiler Technician from 1954-1958. After his naval service, Archie graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and was self-employed in his hometown of Williamsville, IL for two years repairing TVs and installing antenna towers. He then decided to work for General Telephone Electronics (GTE) as an inside construction supervisor retiring in 1993. Archie would go on to work as an independent contractor for GTE and Verizon as well as truck driving and mowing lawns with his zero-turn mower. He loved to spend time with family, hunting, fishing and camping as well as restoring antique tractors to showcase at the Boone County Fair. Archie was a member of the VFW, NRA and FreeMasons. Archie made his spiritual home at Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. He will be missed by all.

Archie is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife, Carolyn; children, Kirk (Brenda) Poole, Troy Poole, Eric Poole; grandchildren, Aundrea (William) Johnson, Alex (Tamara) Poole, Derek (fiancé, Courtney Jumbeck) Poole, Justin Poole; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Margaret, Micah, Madelyn, Marybeth and Greyson. He is preceded in death by his parents; baby half-brothers Arthur V. and Archie D. Poole, half-sisters Edith J. Poole Dierker and Nettie Mae Poole Douglass "Peg", and infant sister, Zaneta Grace Poole.

The funeral service for Archie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. Memorials to the family to establish a memorial in Archie's name.
