March 3, 1970 – December 31, 2024
Anthony Allen Stumpf, 54, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, after a brave battle with ALS. Born on March 3, 1970, Anthony was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, whose larger-than-life personality left a lasting impact on everyone he knew.
Anthony's professional life was defined by his work as a sprinkler fitter with Local Union 281. He also proudly owned and operated Stumpf Homebuilders. Anthony built the home where his children grew up and spent many years rehabbing homes and assisting friends with renovations. A natural extrovert with a gift for storytelling, and a booming laugh, Anthony always lit up any room he entered. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he was especially protective of his children and grandchildren. His daughter fondly remembers him ending every conversation with "kiss the kids for me." Anthony was a proud member of the "Lucky Dog Social Club" and cherished the time spent with his friends and family. He was also a passionate fan of Chicago sports, often sharing his excitement for his beloved teams.
A Belvidere High School graduate, Anthony went on to attend trade school for sprinkler fitting, setting the foundation for a successful career. His work ethic, warmth, and dedication to those he loved will be missed beyond words.
Anthony is welcomed into Heaven by his paternal grandparents, Bernard and Irene Stumpf; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Bernice Luxton; Grandmother Nancy Bast; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
