IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne Helen
Manley
June 25, 1934 – March 2, 2025
Anne Helen Manley(Crawford) also known as Helen Anne Manley, died the afternoon of Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at the Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation after a short stay in hospice care. She died with her family present to provide comfort in her final hours and days.
Anne was born in Belvidere, IL on June 25, 1934 and raised there by parents, James Graham Crawford and Ruth Margaret McLain, with her older sisters, Jeanette, Ruth and Isabelle, all of whom preceded her in death. She attended Belvidere High School and married William Arnold Manley shortly after her high school graduation. Together, they raised 7 children, Kay Plesca(John) of Oliver, British Columbia, Carol Manley(deceased), Kathy Ghrist(Doug) of Roanoke, TX, Judith Connor(Shane) of Queensland, Australia, William(deceased), Janet Payonk(Jerry) of Champaign, IL and James of Dekalb, IL. Anne's first husband passed away in 1972, and she eventually married Martin Aguilera(deceased) in 1978. Anne's many grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her immense pride and happiness.
Anne worked for many years at Automatic Electric in Genoa and was with them as they transitioned to GTE, Lucent and AG Communications, retiring after decades of work for them.
Anne enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and appreciated the great friends, family and co-workers she spent time with in her years living in both Belvidere and Genoa. Anne collected teacups and loved her glass figures and art pieces. She also enjoyed watching British television programs.
Anne was an avid reader, sharing many stories and quotes with her families and friends. One of her favorite quotes comes from an old Irish blessing(though Anne was of Scottish descent): "May God grant you always a sunbeam to warm you, a moonbeam to charm you, a sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you."
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Ida Public Library in Belvidere.
A visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008 on Sunday, March 9th from 10am to 1pm. A private burial service will be held after the visitation.
