Ann was an active member of the Belvidere Education Association during her career. She served on bargaining and grievance committees, building representation, regional council representation, and held executive offices of the BEA. Upon retirement, she participated in the Belvidere Retired Teachers Association. In addition, she was an active member of the Boone County Democratic Party, supported numerous District 100 referendum campaigns and volunteered at PA Peterson during her mother's stay there.
Ann was an avid sports fan, especially the Belvidere Bucs and the St. Louis Cardinals. She drove her beloved purple Gremlin for many years, always happy to help out giving rides or lending her car.
Ann was loved by her family, her friends, and her "adopted" nephews, Tim and Scott. Ann is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Wilbur and Clarabell. She is missed by her sister, Alice, and parents, and those in the community she positively impacted.
To honor Ann's passionate dedication to her students, memorials may be made in her name to the District 100 Foundation to fund grants to Lincoln Elementary School.
