Anita Lorraine Ralston, age 76, of Cherry Valley, IL, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. She was born on May 19, 1949, in Hedricks, Minnesota, the beloved daughter of Edna (Dahl) and Lyle Krause.

Anita was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a woman of deep faith whose life was a beautiful reflection of Christ's love. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering compassion touched the lives of everyone she met.

She dedicated her life to caring for others—whether supporting her children through their education as a volunteer, offering a helping hand to those in need, or showing love to both her pets and wildlife. Her nurturing spirit was truly one of a kind.

Anita graduated from high school in Marengo, IL, and spent many years working at Warner Electric. Even after retirement, she continued to serve her community by working at the Keen Age Center in Boone County and as a custodian at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Rockford.

She was an active member of the Boone County Home Extension and the Ladies Group of Northern Boone County, and a longtime, faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on the Alter Guild.

Anita was also a gifted artist who loved to paint and craft. She found great joy in creating handmade gifts for her family, especially sports blankets and memorabilia that celebrated their favorite teams. Anita's favorite team herself was the Rockford Ice Hogs.

She found peace and happiness in tending her flower garden, feeding the birds, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Anita's warm heart, creative spirit, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Anita is survived by her husband, John E. Ralston Sr.; children, Kevin (Jenifer) Puetz, John Ralston Jr., Christian (Shawn) Ralston, and Adam Ralston; siblings, Leon (Eva) Krause, Dennis (Patricia) Krause, Bryan (Patti) Krause, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her late husband Dennis Puetz, son David Puetz, and her parents, Lyle and Edna Krause.

Anita's visitation will be Wednesday, October 8th between the hours of 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL. A second visitation will be Thursday, October 9th at 10am at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Located at 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL. Funeral Service to follow at 11am. Burial will be at Marengo City Cemetery.
