Anita Ellen Duncan, 63 of Belvidere, IL died peacefully Thursday morning, April 4, 2013 in her home after a lengthy and courageous battle with leukemia, surrounded by the love of her family. Anita was born January 3, 1950 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Evan J. and Marjorie L. (Schwebke) Woodworth. Anita graduated from Belvidere High School in the class of 1968. Anita and David O. Duncan were married on October 18, 1969 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Belvidere where she has been a lifelong member. Anita's inherent creativity and determination contributed to her success as an entrepreneur. She first started with a cake decorating business and then later owned and operated her own embroidery business "Signatures Monogramming" for 29 years. Besides being a business owner, Anita was a member of the Cherry Valley Festival Days, Cherry Valley Quilters, Cherry Valley Breakfast Club, and the Jefferson High School Fans Association.Anita is loved, missed and will be remembered by her husband David; children Stacy (Bill) Cover, Jeffery (Laura) Duncan, Gregory (Jen) Duncan; grandchildren Shawn, Andrew, Jacob, Alexandra, Anyssa, Evan, MarySue, Emma; brother John K. (Marsha) Woodworth; nephews Justin and Andrew; Aunt Ruth Schwebke. Anita is preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given in care of Shriners Hospitals for Children - Chicago or St. John's United Church of Christ in Anita's memory.
