Anita Barefield, 85, of Belvidere past peacefully in her home, June 18, 2012 to join her heavenly father. Born September 18, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois; the daughter of Luna and Bill Williams. She lived in the Rockford and Belvidere area since 1950. Married to Joe Howard Barefield, February 9, 1946. He preceded her in death. She retired as a Activity Director at Fair View Nursing Home. She was a member of East Park Baptist Church for fifty years. She leaves cherished memories to daughters, Delores (Robert) Rosenthal and JoAnn Troia; son, Homer (Teresa) Barefield; eleven grandchildren; fourteen, great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends; sister, Martha (Mike) Fay; brother, Bill (Connie) Williams; sister-in-law, Doris Pace. In addition to her husband, Anita is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Wallace Williams.
