Angeline M. Bates, 85 of Belvidere, Il died peacefully, Sunday morning, October 11, 2009 in her home after a lengthy illness. Angeline was born July 29, 1924 in Belvidere the daughter of Alexander and Katie (Bassett) Crawford. She married James D. Bates on June 2, 1956 in Belvidere. Over the years Angeline worked as a bookkeeper for Doc Wolf, Belvidere Transfer and Farmer's Bank. She enjoyed working her lunch wagon with her husband for auctions and the county fair, painting woodcrafts, sewing and quilt-making. Angeline was also known to be a perfectionist in maintaining her home.She is loved by and will be missed by her children, Barbara (Dennis) Taylor of Machesney Park, Il, James A. (Cheryl) Bates of Stillman Valley, IL; grandchildren, Brian (Shelley) Rohda, Staci Taylor, Miranda Bates, Rylee Bates, Spencer Bates; great grandchildren, Zachery Rohda, Breana Taylor, Austin Taylor, Addyson Bates; brother Irving "Pete" (Dona) Crawford of Belvidere.Angeline is predeceased by her parents; husband James; brothers Donally "Joe", Darrel "Steve", Alexander "Pug".
