Obituary

Amos L. Anderson, 69, of Capron, IL died Thursday, December 16, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford surrounded by his family. Amos was born January 4, 1941 in Belvidere the son of Roy and Josephine (Hopperstad) Anderson. Amos graduated from North Boone High School the class of 1959. He married Shirley Pearce on August 3, 1968 at the Brick Baptist Church in Walworth, WI. Over the years, Amos worked for C&H Fertilizer, Midwest Agri-Systems, Capron Hardware, Carroll Electric and Blue Ribbon Electric. In his younger years, he was involved in spreading fertilizer, erecting farm buildings, grain storage bins and serviced farm equipment. Amos spent 20 years as an electrician for Carroll Electric and Blue Ribbon Electric in Harvard. He served in the Illinois National Guard and retired from the Capron Fire Department after serving 25 years. Amos enjoyed his three grandchildren, working in his garage and yard, reading books, newspapers, magazines and having an early breakfast at the Village Café in Capron.Amos is loved and will be missed by his wife, Shirley of Capron; sons, Duane (Ranee) Anderson of Roscoe and Stephen (Terra) Anderson of Rockton; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Carrie and Ryan Anderson; aunt, Ruby Harmon of Northwood, Iowa and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Amos' family sincerely wishes to thank the Davita Dialysis staff at the Roxbury and Churchview locations, St. Anthony Medical staff, and the Capron Rescue Squad for all their service, love and care. Amos gave the gift of sight by being an organ donor.
