Alice
Rufenacht
Jul 29, 1933 — Jul 29, 2015
Belvidere, IL
Alice Rufenacht, 82, of Belvidere IL. Passed away on July 29, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born on July 29, 1933 to Elmer and Ecil Cullison. She married James Rufenacht on January 29, 1956. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1999. Alice spent her time caring for her family. She was a founding member of the Belvidere Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and was also involved Boone County Home Extension and Red Hats. Mom loved giving back to the community and often could be found on the coldest days ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. She took up golf later in life and enjoyed playing with her friends and in leagues. She loved her garden and looked forward every year to the first fresh tomato out of the garden for her BLT, and enjoyed sharing her gardens' bounty with others. Even more than the vegetables from the garden she loved the variety of flowers that filled the garden and yard with color. Above all else, she was a Mom, and all that simple but all encompassing word means. She made the world a better place for being in it. Goodbye Mom. XOXOX
Alice is survived by her children, Sheryl Jensen, Gary Rufenacht, Greg (Michelle) Rufenacht, and Eric Rufenacht. Grandchildren Chad (Stacie) Baxter, Graham and Collin Jensen, Matt, Nick, Sarah and Colby Rufenacht, and two great grandchildren. Her sister Velma Harmon, Brother Eldon Cullison, Sister-in-law Vivian (Floyd) Schlickman.
