Loves Park, ILAlex S. DiVerdi, 73, of Loves Park, IL died peacefully early Tuesday morning October 22, 2013 in his home after a lingering illness. Al was born January 19, 1940 in Rockford, IL the son of Sam and Stella (Szymanski) DiVerdi. He married the love of his life Frances J. Lott on January 19, 1980 in Rockton, IL. Al retired from Briggs and Stratton of Milwaukee, WI where he was the maintenance supervisor. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, loved woodworking and traveling. Al also enjoyed time with his grandkids, working in his yard and gardening and was very mechanically inclined. Al was also a veteran of the US Marine Corps being stationed stateside in the late 1950's.Alex is loved and will be missed by his wife, Fran of Loves Park; children, Angela (John) Ridlon of Janesville, WI, Rodney Davis of Toulon, IL, Beth Davis of Crystal Lake, IL and Shelly DiVerdi of Loves Park, IL, as well as six Grandchildren. Alex is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rebecca and sister MaryLou.The family wished to give a special thank you to Carol Smith and Dr. Sankaran for the loving care given to Alex.
