Alberta L. Scheib, 71, of Belvidere, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 in her home following a sudden illness. She was born on September 2, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois; the daughter of Albert and Emma (Ortwein) Scheib. Alberta attended Knox College and graduated from Rockford Business College. She was employed as an accounting clerk for Rock River Training Corporation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Belvidere Panhellenic Society and other church groups. Alberta was accomplished in knitting and cross-stitching. She is survived by her sister, Gertrude E. (Dr. Gerald) Rigg, Livonia, MI; a niece, Suzanne Germain; a nephew, Kurt (Amy) Rigg; three great-nieces, Rebecca Germain and Emma Rigg and Molly Rigg; and a great-nephew, Kyle Germain. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Charlotte Scheib and nephew, Karl Rigg.
