Belvidere, ILAlberta Ann (Blachford) Bowen, 80, of DeForest, WI and formerly of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday November 20, 2013 in Good Samaritan Care Center in Lodi, WI. Alberta was born October 12, 1933 in Spring Township, IL the youngest of thirteen children to Albert and Daisy Blachford. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1951 and married Gerald Bowen on October 17 of that year. Alberta and Gerald founded Bowen Body Shop in Belvidere and then relocated to DeForest in 1968. Alberta was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Belvidere where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Mariner's couples club.Alberta is survived by her husband, Gerald Bowen of DeForest; son, Jim (Jeanne) Bowen; grandchildren, Kerry Bowen, Casey Bowen, Kyle Bowen; great-grandchildren, Morgan Henley, Knole Bowen; brother, Donald (Barbara) Blatchford of Belvidere, IL; sisters, Berneitta Kays of Florida, Margaret Karidinen of Michigan, Theo Hildebrand of Belvidere. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Daisy Blatchford; son, Gary Lee Bowen; eight brothers and sisters.
