Adah Maurine
Lindley Lepp
Jun 10, 1925 — Sep 17, 2019
ADAH MAURINE (LINDLEY) LEPP
June 10, 1925 - September 17, 2019
Adah
Maurine (Lindley) Lepp, 94, of Caledonia, IL and Williams Bay, WI passed away peacefully
on September 17th at Brookdale Senior Living in Apache Junction, AZ.
Adah
Maurine was born on June 10, 1925 to Bertil and Eula (Anderson) Gustafson in Wagner,
South Dakota. She graduated from Belvidere High School and attended the University
of IL, Champaign, Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA and St. Mary's School of Nursing,
in Rochester, MN. At 22, Adah Maurine moved from rural Garden Prairie, IL to Chicago,
IL to work at Marshall Fields. While in Chicago, IL she met her future husband
at the Civic Opera Building. That night, he told his family, "I met the woman I'm
going to marry".
She
married her loving husband, Jack Albert Lindley, on her birthday, June 10, 1950
at the United Methodist Church in Belvidere, IL. Tragically, her husband died
of a heart attack in 1969. Adah Maurine re-married 16 years later, in 1985, to
Eddie Lepp, who passed away in 2016. But truly, her heart always belonged to
Jack, the love of her life.
Adah
Maurine was very active in the community, especially during her years in Caledonia,
IL. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Church Pianist, and Church Treasurer at
the Willow Creek Presbyterian Church in Argyle, IL. She also enjoyed being a
4-H Leader, PTA President, and School Trip Coordinator. Adah Maurine created
slide shows and gave community presentations as a Marketing Coordinator for the
United Givers Fund of Boone County in Belvidere, IL.
In
1972, Adah Maurine moved to Williams Bay, WI, with her three children, to their
cottage at the lake. She raised her family while working as a medical computer specialist
at Baxter-Travenol Laboratories in Round Lake, IL. In 1989, she began spending
the winters in Mesa, AZ and moved permanently to AZ in 2009.
She
loved sewing, crafts, gardening, playing cards, writing letters, golf, entertaining,
traveling, and going to the casino. Most importantly, she loved her family and
friends.
Adah
Maurine will be deeply missed by her children, Doug (Cathy) Lindley of Carpentersville,
IL - Judy (Nick) Capaccio of Cape Coral, FL - Pam Lindley of Phoenix, AZ - her
grandchildren Brandon, Ryan, Nathan and Christopher - and her sister-in-law, Marilyn
Lindley of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Tragically,
she lost her 13 year old son, Bruce Edward Lindley, in the 1967 Belvidere Tornado.
While residing at Brookdale Senior Living in Apache Junction, AZ, her daughter, Pam, spent every weekend at the facility, for three years, helping her in every way. We all agree that without Pam's special attention to her mother, she would have not lived to be 94.
A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL, 61008. A funeral ceremony will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery.
